How to Pick a Mechanic for Your Car

There's going to come a time as a car owner that your car is going to need maintenance and repairs, and when that time comes you want to make sure your car is in good hands. In order to make sure you choose the best service center for your car there are some things you should do. These include:

  • Take a look at the Better Business Bureau. Service centers are one of the most commonly complained about businesses so this will help you determine which places to avoid.
  • Find a service center that is familiar with your brand of car and can perform the type of work you need done.
  • Give the service center a try. Let them perform an easy maintenance or repair such as changing the oil and filter.
  • Look for recommendations from friends and family. This is especially helpful if the person has a similar car to yours.
  • Lastly, make sure the service center is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE.
